American School Counselors Association (ASCA) Conference
The 2006 annual conference, "Winds of Change," will be held on June 24-27 in Chicago at the Hyatt Regency Chicago.  Lodging will be $155 for single/double or $180 for triple/quad.  For reservations call 888-421-1442.   Check online for registration fees.

Association for Career and Technical Education (ACTE)
The 2006 ACTE Convention and Career Tech Expo “Connecting Education and Careers” will in Atlanta, GA at the Georgia World Congress Center on Nov. 30-Dec.2, 2006.  Please visit the Web site for more information.

ACTE National Policy Seminar
The seminar is being held on March 6-8, 2006 in Washington, DC.  Visit the Web site for registration information.  This seminar is for leaders at the school, district, and state level.  The National Policy Seminar is the opportunity to get the latest information on what is happening with career and technical education in Washington, share your views with policymakers, and make a difference.

Georgia Association of Career and Technical Education (GACTE)
Georgia’s 58th GACTE annual conference & DOE/DTAE Summer In-Service will be at the Renaissance Waverly Hotel in Atlanta, GA on July 17-19, 2005.  The theme for these important workshops is “Seamless Education in Georgia:  A Partnership for Success”.  Registration starts at $155 and lodging at the group rate of $119.00 (770-953-4500).

National Career Development Association (NCDA) Conference
The National Career Development Association annual conference will be held on July 7-9, 2006 in Chicago, Illinois at the Hilton Chicago Hotel.  The theme will be “Honor Community.”  Check the Web site for numerous levels of registration fees and hotel fees. Registration is online.

Georgia Vocation Staff Development Consortium (GVSDC)
The purpose of the GVSDC is to provide statewide and regional professional learning workshops designed to promote the improvement of the Career -Technical Education programs at the secondary level to help insure that all programs meet state adjusted levels of performance accountability.  Counselors and instructors can take advantage of career-related workshops to enhance their classroom and guidance program.  Workshops are listed by subject area.

National Alliance for Partnerships in Equity (NAPE)

National Tech Prep Network Conference
The National Tech Prep Conference will be Dallas, TX on November 1-4, 2006.  Conference headquarters will be the newly renovated Adam’s Mark Hotel (800-444-2326) rates begin at $135.  Lodging will also be available at the Aristocrat Hotel (Hotel Indigo Dallas Aristocrat) (214-741-7700) rates begin at $119.00.  Reservations Deadline: October 9, 2006.  Registration is online.

Georgia Tech Prep State Conference
Georgia’s 10th Annual Georgia Tech Prep State Conference will be held at the Renaissance Waverly Hotel/Cobb Galleria in Atlanta, GA on February 12-14, 2006.  The theme for this conference is “Engaging Partners for a Lifetime of Success.”  You can register on line by December 12 at $125 per person or December 13-January 23 at $150 per person.  Please the Web site for more information.

Georgia Association for Career Educators (GACE) Spring Conference
For information regarding spring conference, please contact Barbara MacKessy at BarbaraMackessy@BARTOW.k12.ga.us.  The GACE holds two conferences per year in the fall and spring.  Each conference will focus on one of the current career, technical, and agricultural concentrations.  Workshops/seminars consist of actual hands-on opportunities for participants.  The group may visit as many as three different job sites in one day to get a real world view of the knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed in that concentration (program area such as Health Science Technology).

National High Schools That Work (HSTW) Conference
The 20th Annual HSTW Staff Development Conference, “Leading Change to Make Rigor, Relevance, and Relationships a Reality,” will be held in Orlando, FL at the Orlando World Center Marriott on July 12-15, 2006.  Call 1-800-262-9974 for hotel reservations by May 1, 2006.  Please visit the Web site for more information.
