What Subjects Should be Addressed?

The following are examples of the subject areas that should be included in a GO Center:
 
  • Career awareness and career exploration programs/resources/materials.
  • Self-awareness programs/resources/materials.
  • Opportunities for infusion of career development within classroom curriculum.
  • Career planning materials.
  • Educational and career-related opportunities at the high school, such as Advanced Placement, Dual Enrollment, Tech Prep, Job Shadowing, Internship, Cooperative Programs, and Youth Apprenticeship Programs.
  • Information on high school and all postsecondary opportunities including state registered apprenticeships, proprietary schools, technical colleges, industry sponsored training and two-year and four-year colleges/universities.
  • Military opportunities.
  • Financial aid information.
  • Test-taking skills.
  • Identified career-related Internet Web sites.
